How to get a Mongolian visa?

All visitors to Mongolia require a visa, except those from visa-exempt countries. Mongolia allows visa-free entry to citizens of 22 countries and regions. Citizens of other countries and regions need a valid passport and visa to enter Mongolia.

All visas are valid for three months, except for multiple-entry visas. Regardless of the type of visa, you will need to submit the following documents with your application:

A passport valid for at least 6 months from the end of your planned stay in Mongolia with at least 3 blank pages for visa

One photo (standard passport size)

Visa application form (completed)

Round-trip air itinerary (arrival and departure)

Letter of invitation or proof of local travel arrangements

One piece of identity card (front and back) (applicable to Singapore nationals, permanent residents and long-term visa holders)

Visitors from any country planning to stay in Mongolia for more than 30 days must register with the Mongolian Immigration Office in Ulaanbaatar within 7 days of arrival. Visitors who fail to register and stay for more than 30 days will be detained on departure, temporarily refused to leave the country and fined, even if for reasons not their own fault. Independent travelers to Mongolia were required to receive an invitation from a Mongolian national or tour operator/travel agency before a visa was issued.

Obtaining a Visa on Arrival

If your country does not have a Mongolian embassy, ​​you can obtain a visa at Chinggis Khaan International Airport or the railway station if you have a pre-arranged one-month stay visa and a confirmation of a single-entry visa. Travelers' passports must be valid for at least one year upon arrival. If you are arriving from a country that does not have a diplomatic representation in Mongolia, your sponsor, who is a resident of Mongolia, must apply for a visa at the Mongolian Immigration Department.
