Day 1: Mongol nomadic tourist camp and Aglag Monastry
NOMADIC ART GER GALLERY is open every day for everyone who visits us. We consider it a place to spend your free time effectively and stop for a while. We aim to introduce the fine arts sector of Mongolia to international tourists. We will be presenting exhibitions throughout the summer with the works of the best artists representing the fine arts. Sales and sales services will be available. There will also be a SOUVENIR SHOP in this gallery section. Of course, there will be Mongolian branded products.
After leisurely breakfast your Zendmen Travel guide and driver will take you to Aglag Buteel Buddhist monastery, 100 km to North West of Ulaanbaatar. This is a rather comfortable ride on tarmac road. Buddhism is widely practiced religion in Mongolia and has being revived since the 1990’s after the collapse of communism. As people’s religious freedom return, a number of Buddhist monasteries have newly been established. Mongolia’s renowned Buddhist lama and artist Purevbat has initiated one-the Aglag Buteel monastery. Purevbat has being constructed the monastery to the south of Garid (Garuda) Uul, a stunning mountain with larch forest. Granite rocks have been carved as statues of Buddhist tradition, each signifies a particular symbolic meaning. Enjoy walking tour around the monastery and explore its rich heritage. In the afternoon, you will take another short drive to Mongolia’s Secret History ger camp and enjoy your dinner at warm, comfortable restaurant. Enjoy the rest of night with pitch dark sky with sparkling stars in tranquil wilderness. Overnight in a comfortable ger camp.
Day 2: Return to Ulaanbaatar
After leisurely breakfast, you will drive back to Ulaanbaatar
Aglag Monastery is one of the most underrated and unique monasteries in Mongolia. Not your traditional temple complex, Aglag is both weird and wonderful. Start by walking the paths through the incredible stone statues before heading inside the monastery’s main temple. Inside the temple, it’s the beautiful thangka paintings will leave you mesmerized and the animal, half-hybrids with body parts that don’t match, that you’ll remember most after a visit here.
